A Virgin Blogger Discovers A New Self in the US Virgin Islands.
A veteran networker, I am determined to conquer the new world of Social Networking. But how? On the exterior I appear to be a successful baby boomer - an award-winning author/photographer, PR specialist and a mother of two. Yet on the inside, I have been paralyzed by the new Social Media so effortlessly embraced by the younger generation.
"If you want to be an online journalist, Mom, you've got to get technology down and your blog up," my daughter Alexandra Garcia stated. She and her partner, Morgane Richardson were setting off to review four eco-camps and beta test their consulting group's So Elsewhere Consulting's new Flashpacking Bootcamp in the US Virgin Islands.
That's how in May I packed up my laptop, flash-card and digital camera and allowed myself to be high-jacked by two "flash-mentors" who promised to show me how to revamp my business and my brand with blog posts, tweets and Facebook. Take a look as I transformed from digi-dino to flash-nomad!
